Yehia Mohamed Mostafa Elharmiel

An Egyptian sound engineer (born 7 May 2004), focused on Mixing and Mastering, especially with “Dolby Atmos” technology, a Marimba, Xylophone, Flute, Piccolo Flute, Percussion, Piano and Guitar player and focused on Photography, Videography, Editing, Directing and Filmmaking in general.


A native Arabic speaker, proficient in English, pre-intermediate in Italian and a beginner in French. Currently a student at the Egyptian High Cinema Institute majoring in Sound Engineering, he holds a Diploma in Percussion from the Conservatoire (graduating first in his class), studied Composition for one year at the Conservatoire (Secondary one) and studied Flute for three years at Alexandria’s Conservatoire (Preparatory years). He has participated in various workshops and masterclasses, including Filmmaking with the legendary Ali Badrakhan at Calibre & Badrakhan Film Academy, Directing with Dr. Tony Nabih and Dr. Sherif Amasha, Short Film Screenwriting with Dr. Fadwa Yaqout and the Superhero Character in Comics and Movies with Dr. Karim Bahaa. He also attended online workshops organized by the Austrian Embassy on Sound Design for Film & TV with Johannes Konecny, Jingle Design with Baiba Dekena, Cinematography Strategies with Petra Corner and Film Editing with Birgit Foerster. Additional training includes a masterclass in Filmmaking with director Amr Salama at the Science Festival in Zewail City of Science and Technology, a masterclass titled My Experience with director Sandra Nashaat, a Sound Engineering workshop with Dr. Monte Taylor, various workshops at the Cairo International Film Festival and training at EnoShmink Technology Company. He was selected as one of only ten individuals out of 125 applicants to receive the prestigious CAT Audio Course, highlighting his exceptional skills and dedication to the field of sound engineering.


Spent his  entire educational life at Lycée Du Pyramide School, where his Percussion journey began by learning  Xylophone under the guidance of Mssr. Sami Abbas. He participated in every musical and artistic event there and was recognized as the youngest Piccolo Flute player at the time in Africa, the Middle East and possibly the entire world at the age of four and a half.


Performed with the Cairo Opera Orchestra as their youngest percussion player at the time. He has participated in numerous concerts at the Cairo Opera House, El Sawy Culture Wheel, AUC and many other venues in Egypt, as well as in international performances in Lebanon, Kuwait, and at the Alexandria Film Festival. He released a single titled "Nature" on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, which he composed, played, mixed, and mastered himself. He also has his own Foley project, which he recorded, mixed, and mastered on his own.


Contributed to many projects as a Sound Engineer, focusing on Mixing, Mastering, and Recording. He has been involved in projects as a Sound Editor to educate people about the Palestinian issue and he was one of over 2000 international artists calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Additionally, he participated in the Egyptian Photojournalists Society competition for Best Press Photo in the Daily Life category inside Egypt.


Served as a jury member at the Cairo International Film and Children's Arts Festival.​ He​ translated the book "Number the Stars" by Lois Lowry into Arabic. He has previous experience teaching music to kindergarteners. He is experienced in designing posters, book covers and logos. He volunteered at Baheya (Breast Cancer Treatment Foundation) and ShareASmile (Feeding Foundation) as a photographer and assisted in the feeding process during Ramadan. He has a keen interest in mental health and personality types, identifying as an INFJ-T, a rare personality type shared by figures such as Nelson Mandela, Leo Tolstoy and Khalil Gibran.


Received numerous awards and certificates, including first place at the national, governorate and school levels multiple times in a row for Flute, Piccolo Flute, Xylophone and Piano. He also earned second and third places consecutively in the Chopin Competition for Piano (under the guidance of Georgian expert Mme. Elena Dzmashvili). Additionally, he received first place multiple times at the French Cultural Center in general music and has been recognized for completing workshops, participating in musical events and recording important interviews at the Higher Institute of Art Criticism.
